Terms of Service

These are the rules for using QuakeMate, our earthquake-tracking app and website. By using QuakeMate you agree to them.

1. Agreement

QuakeMate (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is provided by Fil Technology. By downloading, installing or using the QuakeMate iOS app or visiting quakemate.app you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. Your license to use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use QuakeMate for your own informational and preparedness purposes. You may not:

• Modify, copy, redistribute or create derivative works from the app.
• Use the app for commercial resale or republication of our data feeds.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source.
• Scrape the API at a rate that interferes with other users.
• Wrap or rebrand QuakeMate as your own product.

3. Not an emergency service

QuakeMate is informational, not emergency infrastructure. Earthquake feeds, tsunami warnings, and Did You Feel It reports are provided on a best-effort basis from public agencies and our community. Notifications can be late, missing, or wrong. Do not rely on QuakeMate as your sole source of emergency information. In an emergency, contact local authorities and follow your country's official guidance.

4. Accounts

Most of the app works without an account. When you sign in (with Apple ID), you're responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for activity on your account. Notify us at once if you suspect unauthorised access.

5. Premium subscriptions

QuakeMate offers an optional Premium subscription that unlocks additional features. Subscriptions auto-renew through your Apple ID until cancelled, on the terms shown at purchase. To cancel, manage subscriptions in your iOS Settings. Refunds, where required by law, are handled through Apple support.

6. Community content

When you submit a Did You Feel It report or other community content, you grant QuakeMate a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, aggregate and use that content within the app and website. You retain ownership. You agree your submissions are accurate to the best of your knowledge and don't include any personal or identifying information about yourself or others.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit false, malicious or harassing reports.
• Try to disrupt the service, including via flooding, scraping or denial-of-service attacks.
• Use the app or data in ways that would violate any applicable law.
• Impersonate other users, agencies or organisations.

8. Disclaimer

QuakeMate is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties — express or implied — about the accuracy, timeliness, completeness or fitness of any earthquake data, alert, community report or map layer for any particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QuakeMate and Fil Technology are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or website. Our total liability for any claim related to QuakeMate is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

10. Termination

You can stop using QuakeMate any time. We can suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Disclaimer, Liability, Governing law) will.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. If we make a material change we'll bump the effective date at the top and, for significant changes, surface a notice in the app.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo for any dispute arising from these Terms. Nothing here limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your country.
